Welcome from another oldie Geoff, I did all my slides using my Siggie 70/300 macro. Made a slide holder stuck it to a Kellogs box with a 100w daylight bulb behind. So I was able to clean them all up in Photoshop.

This is Sparrowhawk.

I am from New Brunswick, a beautiful province in Canada with lots of beautiful scenery and old history. Great photo opportunities.

I enjoy macro and landscape photography. Until recently my photography has been good, but that is all. I needed to push myself to a more artistic format. I took a workshop last spring and things have been happening at warp speed. Lots of great contacts like this forum and networking locally.

I'm almost intimidated by some of the awesome images I've seen on this site, but that's the challenge - to push myself even further.

If you are interested my website is www.btlens.com. I've been playing with the glass paperweights technique from this site and have a gallery of them on my website.

Welcome Sparrowhawk. I've already bookmarked your website to go back to later on when I have a bit more time. From the opening page it looks as if I will find some great work there.

Hi, I'm Barry ( aka Tenner ) and I was introduced to this forum by Garth, who I met on a now-defunct forum. I've been interested in photography for more years than I care to recall - and as a war-baby, some of my toys were my grandfather's old camera gear from the early 1900's. This influenced me, no doubt, to take an interest in photography - what a pity it hasn't encouraged a high technical knowledge OR an artistic flair !

As for slide and negative copying, I've used Ohnar gear ( check this - but I'm not endorcing it ! - http://www.collegecameras.co.uk/Ohnar-D ... -1305.html ). It takes patience to experiment with camera settings, my best results were obtained using a flash against a plain white door but with the camera off-centre i.e. not at 90 degrees to avoid harsh reflection from the matt surface.
I've also used : http://www.nextag.co.uk/Veho-VFS-004-5M ... 865448A40E the results are reasonable, most of your time will be spent cleaning the screen and slide because of static attraction.

Forgive me if this ain't the place for an essay !
